Today I visited "Paper Shop Sakuma," a paper specialty store.
This store welcomes non-specialist customers, and you can buy paper starting from just 22 yen per sheet (A4 size), rather than having to buy in packs of 100.
Here is what I bought today:
- 5 sheets of A4 180gsm (postcard thickness)
- 25 sheets of A4 90gsm (a bit thicker than copy paper)
- 10 envelopes
Total: 770 yen
Then, for some reason (maybe I looked a bit pitiful to them?), they gave me some free notepads.
The atmosphere was low-key and the staff were non-intrusive, but they were kind and polite enough to patiently answer my questions, which must have seemed stupid to them.
Today's Summary
- Duration: 2 hours (Door-to-door, walked there and took the subway back, including a quick stop at a nearby Toko Store)
- Cost: 440 yen (250 yen for a one-way subway ticket and 190 yen for coffee on my way home)
- Walking: 6,700 steps
