Is it just me, or does this upscale, beautifully designed space share a subtle vibe with Fukuoka’s Sun Selco or the late Hawks Mall? Or do I feel this way simply because I’m a stranger here, and the mall is actually very much alive?
On a weekday morning, the place was quiet with very few visitors. Its high-end interior and impressive concept, paradoxically, evoked a sense of decay aesthetic.
Even though all the stores housed inside were open, I felt as if I were exploring a long-abandoned ruin—a peaceful, nostalgic sensation I sometimes experience in a museum or zoo early in the morning, and one that I personally find quite lovely. Though I doubt the mall management would be pleased at my words; opened in 1993, the place is arguably too young to be praised for its decadent beauty.
