Thursdays are Coop Sapporo's 55 Day, on which members aged 55 or older get bonus points equivalent to 5 percent of their total purchase.
I am, of course, taken by this marketing campaign and often splash out on things I don't strictly need, not expensive cuts of meat or luxury fish, but extra ready meals or household goods. As a result, our lunch becomes lavish for the next couple of days.
Yesterday, I bought a pack of menma and roasted pork. So today, I combined them with leftover butter corn from yesterday's dinner to whip up today's lunch: an extravagant ramen with a variety of toppings and steamed vegetables.
Now it's three o'clock in the afternoon, and I am still so full that I don't feel like having dinner.
